FULL VENTILATION
A "Lucky Strike Extra" feature of the Tilt Limiter™ is its ability to increase the ventilation of double hung windows by 100%, reducing summertime air conditioning loads. CHILD SAFETY
Every year, over 4,000 children fall from buildings. The window industry has attempted o address this shameful carnage with everything from warning labels to suggestions to plant shrubs below window openings. Currently, window manufacturers place security latches on window sashes, restricting them to a 4" opening. Young parents looking for summertime ventilation, will not accept for long, this 4" restriction. IMPROVED EGRESS
Many municipalities are requiring building owners to install egress windows retroactively. Contractors are not always able to fit a certified egress window into an existing opening. It's common knowledge that most size issues are due to the large square footage opening requirement for egress windows.
If local code accepts this innovative feature, and with a modified balance system, the tilted-in sashes of a double hung window can be pushed upward, beyond their normal position, past the point where the meeting rail normally rests, increasing the area designated for egress.
